Wellness: Love Blog Challenge 2018

Wellness

Wellness is about a healthy mind body and soul. A good and disciplined thought process. A mind that can plan, create goals and follow through. A healthy mind translates to a healthy body. In Romans 12, the Bible says that we’re to be transformed by the renewal of our minds. So, in essence, our thought process has a lot to do with our lives.

How I maintain wellness;

I read The Bible

There’s something for everyone and every situation here, there is renewal, revival, growth, you name it. I find that reading it late in the night or early in the morning works for me as the silence is great at this time.

I read Books on Wellness, or any Situation I find Myself in.

You’re not the first person to go through what it is you’re going through. Whether life throws you curve balls or you dug your own pit, others have been there. This too shall pass. Don’t give in to your problems, let them not take you from God’s presence.

In this world, you shall face trouble but be of good cheer I(Jesus) have overcome the world.

Podcasts.

I listen to inspiring podcasts and nuggets  from Terry Saville Foy, Sarah Jakes Roberts, Joyce Meyer etc. Faith comes by listening to the Word of God; by Push and Play.

Journal.

Not so much about my feelings, but about activities, chores, projects, to do lists. I separate them in days, weeks and months. This helps me a lot in terms of peace of mind and making sure I don’t waste a lot of time. It keeps me on my toes. It is a great way to achieve goals.

Music.

I love music. I enjoy music. I play gospel rock/worship/praise every morning and it sets the day for me. I always Shazam all the great songs I hear on various platforms because music is life.

Physically

I don’t work out. I rarely work out because I have the metabolism of a horse. I take long walks though, if that counts. Also I have urticaria which is an allergic reaction to exercise and I currently have no antihistamines because I hate going to the doctor’s(sorry mom). Physical wellness for me is my metabolism.

Mentally

I read. Side note: I am a hopeless romantic. I read all the books by Mills and Boon, Intrigue and Silhouette publishers in high school. ALL OF THEM. I love a mental jog, from history, Greek mythology, Swahili etc

Relational

I separate myself from anything/one that comes across as toxic or passive aggressive. In 2018, we only have time for healthy relationships.
Overall my wellness is found in Christs. I have come to the realization that any time  I am not in line with Him, my Spirit is not settled. I am not settled, rather restless and uneasy. So my wellness is in Christ.

    Yes I love these tips! I love reading, journalling and reading scriptures. And I’m really liking podcasts lately!

    I find so much inspiration for wellness by reading and connecting with others in the community. I think wellness isn’t just about our individual selves but also in being part of a community where we can share our experiences and stories. These were great tips for just that! I also believe that wellness isn’t just physical but also in keeping our hearts, souls and minds healthy.
