Celebration: Love Blog 2018

For who hath despised the day of small things (beginnings)? For they shall rejoice, and shall see the plummet in the hand of Zerubbabel with those seven; they are the eyes of the LORD, which run to and fro through the whole earth. Zech4:10

What’s up great people, I’m sending you all the salaams, all the greetings and I hope you’re all well.
I love celebrations. Any reason for nyama choma (barbecue) and dancing is a good reason for me. I know you’re probably wondering why I said barbecue but in my side of the world, we don’t buy meat and roast it. No. We slaughter a sheep or goat and if the occasion permits, a bull will be great.
I always celebrate my new achievements. I might not slaughter anything but I celebrate in other ways like eating at a nyama choma joint, having lunch with the girls or buying myself a new set of earrings, pendants, knuckle rings or anything fancy.
I also celebrate by giving myself a relaxed evening, with cool music, a comedy or a great book.

Special Occasions I Celebrate with my Family;

Graduations, passing exams, new jobs, personal achievements, birthdays, traveling gigs for any member of the family, etc. Graduations are celebrated in style and usually, there is a party at my house.

Other achievements are celebrated over a great dinner, great talk, laughter, and good company. I love such evenings because my dad is a comedian(not by profession) and his theatrics are always welcome.
If the Lord wills, I graduate this year and you are all welcome for nyama choma.

How does my dream wedding look like?

I probably don’t have an idea about this but I know I want it done in a church with friends and family, that’s for sure. About the themes, colours and what not, that I will know when I get there because of my interest changes yearly.
I am not the person I was last year or two years ago, and that’s a good thing. I do however want to read Before you say I do by Bishop TD Jakes. So if you’re wondering what to gift me, now you know. The best thing you can do when you’re single and anticipating marriage is to read and learn about it.

Little things I celebrate;

My friends or my achievements. I like to believe that I am a supportive friend. However, do you ever feel like people don’t go out for you the way you do them? Sometimes I feel like this though I have never let it affect me.
New projects; I love having new work projects, creative projects that build, encourage and help me grow.
Coming up with great articles. Sometimes I write something and I am so proud of myself, like,” well done Sarah.”
My siblings’ achievements. Terry and Victor are my WORLD. We may quarrel but they are the best and we’re so close.
My academic achievements. These are a lot. We celebrate them with mom and dad.

How do you celebrate your achievements? Let me know in the comments.

    Graduations are certainly a reason to celebrate! My husband graduated with his PhD in December and we celebrated with a trip to Disney World!

      PhD, wow, congratulations to him. I too plan to get a PhD in the future, God willing. Disney world sounds perfect.

    When I’m by myself and have some free time–a book, a cozy couch, and a good snack sounds like the perfect celebration to me! I also love celebrating the bigger events of life with family and friends–just last night we had a birthday party for a friend turning 25!
