Book Review: Chillpreneur: How to Run a Wildly Successful Business Without Losing Your Mind (or Your Money!)

I started reading Chilllprenuer around June this year and have listened to it 3 times now. This is the first book I’ve listened to or my first audible purchase. Here’s my Chillpreneur review:

Book: Chillpreneur by Denise Duffield Thomas

Goodreads Synopsis

Mindset mentor and online business rockstar Denise Duffield-Thomas teaches women how to make twice as much money while doing half as much work!

You might be scrolling through Instagram, seeing bloggers lounging on a beach with their laptop and thinking… why isn’t that me? Well, probably because you’re letting negative money beliefs hold you back.

Denise Duffield-Thomas made herself a millionaire by helping women realise that they could manifest anything they dreamed of if they took consistent action.

In Chillpreneur, she’s teaching women how to align their goals with the universe and earn six figures (or more!) without losing their minds! In this book, you’ll learn:

* How to find your true calling instead of jumping on the first ‘good idea’ you get

* Why caring is such a huge part of being a successful (and happy) entrepreneur

* How to quit procrastinating and get shit done

* How to let go of the guilt you have around money and accept that you deserve to be a kickass, successful businesswoman.

Through exercises and real-life stories, Denise shows you how to avoid making the (many) mistakes she and other women have made, how to boost your confidence and smash through your money blocks and start making your business dreams a reality. Unlike her previous books, this title is full of practical advice about taxes, pricing, converting, and making it to the top – and it will make you laugh out loud.

Being a Chillpreneur isn’t about being at the beach all day – it’s about finding the path of least resistance to fabulous money. It’s about taking a relaxed, imperfect approach and giving yourself permission to find the shortcuts for minimum effort and maximum results. It’s about making twice the money for half the work.

Denise encourages us to pursue the path of least resistance, working to eliminate our money blocks as women, money boundaries and ensuring we position ourselves for financial success as women.

One of the concepts I found most interesting was that of the Witch Wound. According to Chillprenuer, the Witch Wound is the psychic scar in the collective consciousness that most women start to awaken to and feel deeply in their bodies as soon as they consider stepping into their power.

Denise encouraged us to align our work with our personality and work will be more of swimming downstream with the help of the currents than swimming upstream, against the current. She also has a list of bonuses created for the Chillpreneur readers that can be found here.

The book provides good financial and business nuggets, is great to listen to and I loved Denise’s voice. Here is a list of tips I took from the book that you can add to your affirmations list:

  • There is always more money.
  • There is always enough clients.
  • There are always more opportunities.
  • There are always more ideas.
  • There is always more time.
  • A wealthy woman looks like you.
  • Give yourself permission to be wealthy and successful exactly as you’re now.
