Looking for a job; is also a Job.

If we were never depressed, we should not be alive, it is the nature of a crystal not to be depressed. ~ Oswald C Chambers.

Happy new week and Happy new month guys. It’s a month since leaving University but it feels like a whole lot more than a month. Maybe it’s because I have  a lot of time in my hands than I did then, and time seems to drag like forever.

Searching for a job is a job in itself. It requires tenacity, patience, endurance, accepting the rejection emails and moving on. Then wake up every morning and repeat the same process until you find one.
Yeah. So looking for a job is my job now and occupies a lot of my time.

I am also reading a lot of blogs and publications, books and pretty much anything interesting I come across. Apart from that I am growing my Instagram page. I don’t post a lot but I have 200 weekly views on average. You  can follow my Instagram page here.
My blog is also growing. I’m interacting with bloggers, keeping up with my reader and writing for another publication which has been nominated for an award.

Netflix has been keeping me company while I search for a job.
I have watched all Dave Chapelle, Kevin Hart specials because I love comedy. I love comedy a lot. Netflix has been a good companion  and source of humor for me.
I am currently watching;

  • Grace and Frankie.
  • Sense 8.
  • Ray Donovan.
  • Orange is the new black.
  • Dave Chapelle.
  • The people vs O.J Simpson etc.

I am listening to some motivational podcast as I type this because motivation is needed in this job search season. How did you cope after University with so much time in your hands? What did you do in your job search period? Let me  know in the comments.

    Sarah – I remember all too well looking for my first “career job”. I prayed and prayed and prayed. I learned that I had to first take an entry level job. One that didn’t pay the bills so I needed a room mate to help with expenses. During my process in my entry level job, I expressed my interest of taking on more responsibilities and believe me they were given to me. Then came some promotions and before I knew it, I was in my career. While in my career, I continued to be rewarded with more promotions until I hit the top – I’d finally made it to be a Controller of a mid-sized hospital. I’d always liked the healthcare industry and found that the care and comfort that the employees working directly with the patients spilled over into other areas of the hospital work force. I stayed in healthcare as long as I could – until retirement.
    I pray that you know what you’d like what you’re doing and move forward in your industry. Much love and luck and dependence in God while you’re on your journey. Please keep in touch and let me know how your job hunt goes and which industry you plan to “enjoy your ride in”. God bless you and be with you.
