Love Blog 2018: Guilty Pleasures I Indulge in.

Hello good people, Hujambo? Natumai siku yenu iko shwari. How’s that for Swahili. Someone pointed out that we have bad Swahili and that our parents and village people are more articulate in  Kiswahili.  Well, I avoid Swahili because my Kikuyu tongue just start mispronouncing stuff but I’ll start practicing.

Yes. What are your guilty pleasures? What do you indulge in?
Personally my guilty  pleasures may seem boring, but I love them and always find myself indulging in them day after day.

Vanilla Scented Candles

I might change or replace them with myrtle aromatic candles. I love the smell especially If I seek inspiration or when I am reading.

Dancing in the Shower

I love dancing. I try all the dances I watch on YouTube in the shower, every single day. Cool huh?

Wake up early to read a Book, Blog, or Write

This is so fulfilling to me. If I wake up one day late, I’ll hate myself the rest of the week. There is something about the atmosphere at this time that makes it feel like dreams are being achieved there and then as you work. I also love reading while between the sheets and just being carefree. It’s also easy to be authentic at this time of the day.

Reading My Utmost for His Highest in the morning

I can never get enough of Oswald C. Chamber’s work and his relationship with Christ. I love his perspective of the kingdom and some of the issues, dilemmas, we face as Christians and the Christian life basically.

Bongo Music

I love music and most of the time it’s gospel, but once in a while a bongo song( Especially Diamond’s songs) really get to me. It makes me proud of my East African roots. I can play the same song 10 times to get the lyrics as Lahaja ya Tanzania ni tofauti na Kenya( Tanzania’s Swahili is kinda different from Swahili). What’s Lahaja in English?

I don’t feel guilty about them except for singing in the shower, I don’t want to sound crazy plus I’m very sure am usually off key.

What are your guilty pleasures?

Hi Sarah! Nice to meet you! How do you manage dancing in the shower? I’d fall on my booty so I’ve got admiration for your dancing skills.

Hi Ivanna, just have slippers with good hold. I don’t think barefoot is slippery either but I don’t know. Yes, I like to think I can dance.❤❤

I also love Bongo music! I had never heard Bongo prior to a school chorus and percussion showing up on my feed with the BEST bongo song I had ever heard. Now I’m in love.
