Since most of my readers loved Victor’s article on how to apply for a Hungarian scholarship, he’s back to tell about studying in Hungary, and administrative tasks to do when you land in Budapest. Take it away Victor.
1. Buy a Sim card
There are mainly 3 Sim-card providers in Hungry namely:
- Vodafone
- Telkom
- Telenor
You are going to need this in the administrative tasks. You will need a passport to do this.
2. Get a Hungarian Bank Account
- OTP Bank
- Raiffeisen Bank
- Erste Bank
- Budapest Bank
OTP is the most commonly used by students. It has the most ATM booths. Please start with the sim card then the bank account. You will need the bank account to receive your stipend. You will receive an email from the international Co-Ordinator where you will book an appointment for registration as part of the registration you will receive the following documents:
- personalized registration form: it is already filled in with the data we have in our system.
- insurance card
- medical check-up list
- forms required by the Immigration Office
- Bulletin (containing detailed syllabus)
- Neptun code
Resident Permit
Your registration data will be used to provide used to give you your resident permit. Make sure your data is accurate. Another appointment is needed to collect it and to provide the signatures.
