Today I am excited to have Monicah guest post on 73 Visa Free Countries, Visa on Arrival and E-visa for Kenyan citizens. Monicah is one of my blogger friends from Nairobi and has interviewed me before on her blog. To read more about that article, click here.

Exciting topic, isn’t it? A point to note is that a travel passport document is a must requirement when leaving your country and entering another. A passport holds your identity and is issued by your local government. Read more on how to get a passport here. A Visa, on the other hand, is issued by the government of the country you are visiting to allow you to stay there for a specific period.

So, I had to look up Kenyan citizens’ visa-free countries and visa must countries. The internet has some pretty amazing findings. Did you know, Kenyan citizens have Visa-Free entry to 72 out of the 195 countries in the world? The Kenyan Passport is therefore ranked 69th on the travel freedom list. For countries that do not require a Visa, several have a limit of allowed stay.

For countries that require visas, some countries allow you to apply on arrival, others online while for others, you must visit the embassy and await approval. From stories I’ve heard, obtaining a Visa to certain countries can be quite the hustle in terms of requirements and cost as well. Some countries will even deny you Visa because they despise a certain race. So it is simply amazing knowing there are countries which you can visit Visa-free.

Visa Free Countries for Kenyan Citizens

1. Antigua and Barbuda

These are two islands which make up a country, located in the West Indies in the Americas, lying between the Caribbean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean. 
Major tourist attractions are its soft white sand beaches, Nelson’s dockyard, Barbuda Frigate Bird Colony, Devil’s Bridge National Park, Shirley Heights, among others.

2. Bahamas

It consists of 700 islands and more than 2,000 small cays sprinkled across the Atlantic Ocean and the Caribbean Sea. 
Major attractions are Atlantis Paradise Island, Nassau, Exuma Cays Land and Sea Park, Harbour Island, Grand Bahama just to name a few.

3. Barbados

It is a country in the Carribean. 
Major attractions are The Beaches of Carlisle Bay, Downtown Bridgetown, Bathsheba Bay, Animal Flower Cave, St. Nicholas Abbey to name just a few.

4. Botswana 

It is in the southern part of Africa. 
Major attractions are Chobe National Park, Okavango Delta, Tsodilo Hills, Nxai Pan National Park because Africa is known for its wildlife.

5. Burundi 

It is located just below Rwanda where East and Central Africa converge. 
The major tourist attractions are Bujumbura, Lake Tanganyika, Rusizi River National Park, Ruvubu National Park, Lake Rwihinda Natural Reserve, Mount Heha among many more outdoors experiences.

6. Hong Kong 

It is a country in southeastern China. 
The major tourist attractions are
Star Ferry, Hong Kong Skyline, Victoria Peak (The Peak), Big Buddha (Tian Tan Buddha Statue), Wong Tai Sin Temple, Repulse Bay and the Beaches, Temple Street Night Market, Hong Kong Disneyland, Tai O Fishing Village to name just a few.

7. Dominica 

It is a Country in the Caribbean. 
The major tourist attractions are Morne Trois Pitons National Park, Boiling Lake, Victoria Falls, Cabrits National Park, Roseau, Dominica’s Festivals among many more.

     8. Eritrea

It is a northeast African country.

9. Ethiopia

It is in the Horn of Africa. 
Must see upon visiting Ethiopia; The Omo Valley, Simien Mountains, Lalibela, Gondar (Gonder), Feeding Hyenas in Harar, Axum (Aksum), Addis Ababa among many more.

10. Fiji 

It is an archipelago of more than 300 islands, is a country in the South Pacific.

It is a West African country.

All other countries not listed above, therefore, require a Visa.
